Alongside her love of singing, Abigail is also an accomplished pianist, oboist and saxophonist. She enjoys teaching all ages and abilities in various schools across Hertfordshire, for The singing school Bushey www.thesingingschoolbushey.co.uk and privately at her home in St. Albans. Under Abigail’s 8 years teaching experience, many students have gained extremely high marks of Distinction in ABRSM examinations, won first prize in competitions and music festivals, and gained places within renowned choirs and West End Musicals. Abigail is a member of the British Voice Association and has been awarded the teaching licentiate of the RoyalAcademy of music.
Most recently Abigail has embarked upon an exciting new venture, leading several mass choirs across Hertfordshire. Abigail, having studied alongside Gareth from the BBC Choir series, is thrilled to be working within the local community and leading choirs in
Watford, St. Albans and Hertford, through the singing and performance of contemporary music in the unique and enjoyable environment Rock Choir offers www.rockchoir.com. The music is very accessible to everyone, covering favourite Pop, gospel & Motown songs and there is no audition to join – all abilities and ages are welcome. Members themselves might not be professional musicians but want to gain confidence in their voices and themselves.
Over 300 members regularly attend Abigail’s choirs after only one term! And the adult choirs have already performed at several public events including: Watford Harlequin Christmas Lights alongside renowned dance group ‘Diversity’, Harpenden, broadcast on Heart FM and St. Albans and Hertford with Mercury FM. The diary is filling up fast for 2010, with performances including: Watford V Newcastle at Vicarage Road Stadium, Bushey Music Festival, Rickmansworth music festival and an end of term show at the Alban Arena.
